Dropped Out:
N/A
Waiting in the Wings:
- Pittsburgh: The Wannstache is loaded with talent, the Big East is down, and the natives in the Steel City are growing restless. It's time for him to step up, his team to compete, and justify the gigantic contract they're paying for bargain basement results so far.
- California: If First Half of 2007 Season Cal shows up, the rest of the Pac 10 could be in serious trouble, and USC could have a potential spoiler on their schedule. If Second Half of 2007 Season Cal shows up, Cal fans might put a run on pitchforks and torches.
- South Carolina: Brutal road conference schedule, reworked defense. Spurrier steadily improving in Columbia.
- Fresno State: Lock for the WAC title, and marquee games to give exposure and quality wins should they take advantage.
- Alabama: We'll find out in Week 1 what sort of team the Crimson Tide are working with when Clemson comes to Atlanta.
- Rutgers? Yes... Rutgers. Ray Rice or not, the Scarlet Knights play in a depleted Big East with no clear cut favorite.
